The Ashland County Veterans Service Commission

In accordance with the Ohio Revised Code Title 59 in each county there shall be a commission known as "the Veterans Service Commission". The commission shall be composed of five residents of the county appointed to five-year terms by a judge of the court of common pleas.

Each member of the commission appointed under this section shall be an honorably discharged or honorably separated veteran. Additionally under Ohio Statute all members of the Veterans Service Commission must take annual training and maintain their continuing education credits in accordance with the Ohio Department of Veterans Services.

Jane Roland
Jane was born and raised in Ashland.  She graduated from Ashland High School in 1976 and attended Lorain County Community College.  Jane started her employment with the Veterans Service Office in June of 1977 and has risen to the position of Administrator/Veterans Benefits Counselor.  Jane serves on the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers Executive Board.  She also serves as their Contract Training Chair, Time and Place Chair and she is a trainer.  She also serves on the Ohio State Association of County Veterans Service Officers Board of Directors and is a delegate to the Ohio Department of Veterans Services Advisory Committee, where she currently serves as Vice-Chair.  She is the Time and Place Chair for OSACVSO and serves as a trainer.
